5 Brands to Shop Small this Holiday Season
While the holidays are all about gifting, they’re also about giving back to our community and shopping local does just that. By supporting independent shops, artists, and makers, you’re using your dollars to make a difference and choosing intention over convenience. I love working with female-owned indie brands because not only do they make amazing products I love and know my customers will too, supporting their businesses is a passion of mine. Since the day I opened Prism, my goal was to partner with other badass women living out their dreams by staying true to themselves and making products they really believed in. It’s so exciting to see how much our roster of these brands have grown and I look forward to watching them continue to thrive. These are just a handful of some of my faves who make products I can wait to gift this holiday season.
Long time Prism friend and fave, we’ve carried Paradigm since we first opened in 2013 and the owner, Meg, was just getting started too. The quality of her pieces and unique designs are just so good. Plus, her studio is a mile away from the boutique - you really can’t get more local than that! We love when Meg comes to events and does custom hand stamping for our customers and you can catch her at both our Holiday Markets this month.
Sisters makes the best smelling non-toxic hair and body products that are always stocked in my house. Since it’s safe for the whole family, I only use their shampoo for my daughters’ hair and they love it. And I love that they give 40% of their profits to organizations that support women’s health. Their line makes the perfect gift for anyone, especially those passionate about keeping their beauty products clean.
We’ve carried Callahan since our first year in business when Michelle was just starting out. She came into the boutique with the cutest style selling an amazing crochet dress that turned out to be one of our best sellers. Since then, both of our businesses have grown and so has our relationship. Our customers can’t get enough of her cozy sweaters - they’re my cold weather go-to every year!
Wild And Woman is a small emerging fragrance brand from Costa Mesa. Made of 100% pure organic oils, each fragrance smells so good and adapt to each individual’s PH. They’re the perfect gift for the chick who loves a good scent that’s totally natural. My favorite is the Christie oil made of Cedarwood + Amber + Jojoba Oil.
After only carrying Back Beat Co. for almost two years, they’ve quickly become a best seller for us. They make THE best quality basics that I seriously live in. I love that their apparel is made of low impact fabrics - including hemp, tencel and recycled cotton, which means I’m wearing something that’s better for me and the planet. The Golden Hemp Jacket and Baby Tee are Prism staff faves that get worn on repeat.
Each one of these brands brings so much to our shop and has helped Prism become the eclectic boutique of my dreams. I’m so happy to have them featured in our Gift Shop and know that they’ll make anyone on your list happy this holiday season and beyond.
